It’s easy to feel like you personally know characters from your favourite TV shows. Some of us felt like we knew Rachel, Ross, Joey, Monica, Pheobe and Chandler more than our own friends. We laugh when they laugh, cry when they cry and can at times be influenced by what our favourite TV characters think and do. It is that kind of existing bond that brands want to tap into through clip licensing deals with the TV property owners.

Here are 6 examples of celebrities reprising their roles for a commercial.

Although only appearing in 2 out of 180 episodes, the Soup Nazi is one of the most memorable characters from Seinfeld. His catchphrase ‘No Soup for You!’ is one of the most iconic from the series.
