CHARACTER OVERVIEW:
G.I. Joe’s story involves an ongoing struggle between the G.I. Joe team and the evil Cobra organisation which seeks to take over the world. Members of the G.I. Joe team are not superheroes: they are ordinary people doing extraordinary things, through the disciplined development of their mental and physical abilities. Wherever there is trouble, G.I. Joe is there.
ABOUT PROPERTY:
G.I. Joe is an American media franchise and a line of action figures owned and produced by the toy company Hasbro. In 1964, the initial product offering, and first ever Action Figure, represented four of the branches of the US Armed Forces. The name is derived from the usage of ‘G.I. Joe’ for the generic U.S. soldier of WW2, as G.I. stands for “Government Issue”. G.I. Joe's appeal to children and collectors has made it an American icon among toys. G.I. Joe was inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame at The Strong in Rochester, New York, in 2004 and into the Pop Culture Hall of Fame in 2017. The ‘G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero’ comic book recently published its 301st issue, making it the 5th longest running comic book in the United States by a single author, Mr. Larry Hama.
