The AA x Street Fighter’s triple win at the 39th Marketing Society Awards

THE AA AND STREET FIGHTER WON BIG AT THE 39th MARKETING SOCIETY AWARDS

We are thrilled to announce that the campaign ‘It’s OK, I’m with the AA’ that we worked on last year won not one, not two, but three (!) awards at the 39th Marketing Society Awards. The campaign  for the AA, the UK’s leading driving services business, licensed Ken and Ryu from nostalgic arcade game Street Fighter, and Born Licensing managed the whole licensing process from start to finish to help bring this clever and fun project to life.

The Marketing Society Awards have long been regarded as the most prestigious within the marketing industry since they were first launched back in 1985, and it was an honour for us to be a part of this. Huge congrats to the teams at the AA and The Gate London!

The winning campaign

The campaign launched at the end of July 2023, with DOOH and social media assets being distributed in major cities across the UK at high-impact full-motion sites, and across social media platforms. The campaign consisted of large scale animated executions featuring characters Ken and Ryu from Street Fighter destroying an unlucky civilian’s car with their signature martial arts moves. However, thanks to the AA, the innocent man doesn’t seem too concerned about his vehicle!

Born Licensing’s award hat-trick

It is not the first time we have been nominated (and won!) for licensing awards all over the world. We pride ourselves as being the experts in licensing for advertising, so getting these forms of recognition from the licensing industry is a real honour for us.
