Embracing Emojis in advertising: 2Degrees speaks in JoyPixel Emojis across New Zealand
To celebrate their new Unlimited mobile plan New Zealand based telco company 2Degrees has incorporated JoyPixels Emojis into a major advertising campaign
2Degrees has launched a major new advertising campaign featuring JoyPixels Emojis to celebrate their new Unlimited mobile plan that lets customers hotspot or tether for free, and team up with family or friends to pay as little as $40 per month, per person.
“In any other industry, the more you spend, the more you’re rewarded. At 2Degrees, we’ve always been proud to give Kiwis a fair deal and this year – the year of our 10th birthday – is no exception,” said Chief of Consumer, Scott Taylor.
Emojis are synonymous with the mobile world and tying them into their advertising has helped 2Degrees speak to their target audience in their language.
Every day of the year over 6 billion emojis will be sent around the world. These little icons have formed their own universal language that continues to build in cultural relevance. As new emojis are added to the growing list and inclusivity also extends from the basic beginnings, the emoji language is something we don’t see going anywhere soon.
92% of the 3.2 billion internet users are the world regularly use emojis to communicate and it’s great to see them being used more in creative advertising.
This marketing campaign for 2Degrees’ Pool Plan offers a sneak peak of the new brand look and feel, which uses JoyPixels Emojis – the universal language of the mobile world – and was crafted together with agency TBWA Auckland.
As licensing agents for JoyPixels, who have developed their very own set of emojis, we were able to negotiate the licensing commercial terms and managed all other aspects of the project from start to finish without charging any clearance fees.
With such a global offering it is no wonder that advertisers are starting to embrace emojis. They can be tied to advertising and marketing initiatives in all sorts of fun and creative ways.
Last month EE licensed JoyPixels Emojis in their chatbot for the BAFTAs red carpet event, Morrisons also licensed JoyEmojis to celebrate WorldBookDay.
