Born Licensing Announces New Partnership With CulturaXchange In Brazil

Born Licensing and CulturaXchange announce a strategic partnership to transform the licensing market in Brazil

A growing demand for innovation and creativity in the advertising market and audiovisual productions has propelled CulturaXchange, a leading facilitator in music licensing and musical supervision for audiovisual productions in Brazil, to new heights. The agency has entered into a strategic partnership with Born Licensing to create new opportunities for brands and combine the best of both worlds in their campaigns: memorable music and iconic characters from film, TV, and cartoons.

MEMORABLE MUSIC AND ICONIC CHARACTERS

For about two years, David Born (CEO of Born Licensing) and José Celso Guida (CEO of CulturaXchange) have been studying and envisioning the possibility of facilitating and streamlining the licensing process, which is often complex and time-consuming. Born Licensing’s roster includes some of the most beloved and well-known entertainment IP, including He-Man, Skeletor, SpongeBob SquarePants, Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the Smurfs, Angry Birds, Peanuts, Popeye, and G.I. Joe. David Born says, “Brazil is of great interest to us, as it is globally recognised for its creative scene in the advertising market. We want to raise awareness about creative opportunities for licensed use of characters, celebrities, entertainment figures, and thematic elements for project creation.”

In a decade of operation in the Brazilian music licensing market, CulturaXchange currently serves over 110 advertising agencies and more than 60 audiovisual production companies, including major names like Netflix, Disney, and HBO. Similarly to the approach Born Licensing has with characters, CulturaXchange manages the music licensing process from start to finish. As José Celso Guida explains, “it is a unique solution for budgeting, negotiation, and the release of music rights (works/phonograms/artists) with the rights holders, regardless of how many parties are involved in each musical work”.

Now, with the partnership between the two companies, there is an expectation of a significant increase in business in Brazil for Born Licensing. On one side, there is the first 'Sync Agency', a Brazilian synchronisation agency specialising in music licensing processes and musical supervision for audiovisual productions such as advertising, cinema, TV programs, and the internet. On the other side, there is an experienced and global intellectual property licensing agency which specialises in entertainment IP and characters.
